My adventure with the Malbork Castle:
I arrived to Malbork in 1953, when the castle still was in ruins.
Between 1956 and 1972 I was firstly an employee then the manager
of Tourist Bureau PTTK in that castle. From 1973 till 1990 I owned
a photography shop located near the castle. Currently I am semi-retired,
working part time as a tourist guide in the castle.

size that you may want, or printed with your own graphical software.

My books on proverbs:
My name is Czesław Pająk.
Actually you may know me already
from my Dictionaries of Proverbs,
means a series of books in which
I presented the selection of mutually
corresponding English and
Polish proverbs. (This first book
from this series had the following
editorial data:
Czeslaw Pajak, Slownik
Przyslow Angielskich - Dictionary
of English Proverbs, Wydawnictwo
Poznanskie Poznan 1998,
ISBN 83-86138-45-9. Reprinted in 2002.)
Fig. #2. Here is the cover page of my first book
of proverbs, entitled "Słownik Przysłów Angielskich -
Dictionary of English Proverbs"). Since it was
published, several further my books appeared.
Some of them are still available in bookshops
of Poland.
This book contains a selection of around 2800 English proverbs and
their Polish equivalents. It contains most commonly used proverbs
that originate from English and Polish culture. Since proverbs are
the condensed form of folk wisdom, the book accumulates folkloristic
essence of these two cultures. I am pleased that I can recommend it
to all people who deal with both languages simultaneously, and would
like to know (or learn) mutually corresponding proverbs of these
languages and cultures.

My profession of a photographer:
Independently from the serving community
by guiding tourists through the Malbork
Castle, I also served it by recording the
history of Malbork during my professional
work as a photographer.

The photographing become not only my
profession, but also my passion. I own
probably one of the best collections of
photographs of Malbork, which illustrates
the development and the history of this
Castle and town.
Some amongst numerous photographs which
I took are illustrated on the web page
castle photographs).

guided English-speaking tourists (currently is a honorary member
of Guides Association). More information about my and my wife's Nina
activities in Malbork is provided (in Polish) on the web page
for Malbork.

History of preparation of this web site:
My whole life revolved around the Malbork castle. Since I accumulated
so much data and visual materials about it, I decided to make available
part of these resources via this web site.

It somehow happens that I have a brother,
Dr Jan Pająk, the passion of whom is, amongst
others, the programming of historical web pages.
For more information, amongst others, how I
try to support the development of turism in Malbork
and the Castle, see also my web page (in the
Polish language only) entitled
For Malborka).
